About tattooed dolls and a ballerina kitty

Boston craft artist Mimi Kirchner is the designer of these beautiful dolls.

The faces are hand embroidered, and the bodies are made of reclaimed fabrics.  The dolls are made in series, but each one is unique in its' fabrics and details.

NEW KOM products in the shop

Two weeks ago we made photo's and today I will try to add some new KOM products to the shop. Try to, because in between I have to play with Playmobil and Lego with my sons.

I love the creations of Timo Handmade. Timo creates amazing dolls, animals and objects. TIMO, based in Israel, is a small design line, all handmade. Sewn with an eye for detail and a touch for fabric. Being hand-made, each and every item is one of a kind.

TIMO is part of the EcoDesign trend, standing up for the right consumption and the right manufacturing, alongside
recycling, minimization of manufacturing waste and simplification of processes. The objects' design is current and classic, but the methods of manufacture are traditional.

The materials are mostly recycled, or scraps of designers' fabrics.Scraps of fabric piled up in the studio are used later either as stuffing or as material for other products.

Ocean cuties

Yesterday evening I found some images of The Octonauts. I have never seen them before. The Octonauts are a crew of adorable animals who roam the ocean in search of adventure and fun.




The Octonauts is a tv serie (not on Dutch television) based on the children's books written by Vicki Wong and Michael Murphy of Meomi Design Inc.

They are so cute and I'm sure my sons will love watching them.
